A short undeveloped approach reaches two waterfalls beside Highway 29. Despite the small distance, the creek bed sits between drops and deserves more care than a simple roadside stroll.

1. Getting there and parking

From Chetwynd take Highway 29 toward Tumbler Ridge. Look for the small turnoff and parking on the right approximately 25.4 km from the highway turn, about 2.8 km beyond the Sukunka FSR junction, near the crest of a long hill. The access description was last reviewed in July 2016. Pull fully clear of highway traffic and confirm the trail entrance before leaving the vehicle.

Parking: The July 2016 source places the small right-hand Highway 29 turnoff 25.4 km from Chetwynd’s highway turn, 2.8 km past Sukunka FSR near a hill crest.

2. Walking the route

Follow the short route toward the creek and the two waterfall tiers, reported at approximately 5 m and 7 m high. The club gives about 1 km return with only 20 m of elevation gain, but calls it an undeveloped route for experienced walkers. The accessible creek-bed area described in the guide lies below one drop and above the other, so approaching the water also approaches a downstream fall. Avoid slippery rock and high-flow conditions, and return by the same route. Winter ice climbing is a separate technical activity; the summer walking description does not establish safe winter access.

The return

The source’s roughly 1 km return reaches the creek between two falls. Return by the same approach; the creek-bed position is above a second drop.

5. Camping, facilities and seasons

Season and access

Winter ice climbing is documented, not equivalent to a maintained winter walking route.

Winter route

The older guide mentions WI2 ice climbing. That technical activity is separate from the summer walk and is not evidence of a safe winter hiking route.
