Short descent to waterfall viewpoint.
1. Getting there and parking
On Highway 16, continue just east of the Mount Robson Welcome Centre area and turn into the signed Overlander Falls trail parking. An outhouse is listed at the parking area. This roadside trailhead serves the short approach; the longer river trail begins near the Robson Meadows campground entrance.
Road and vehicle: The local guide does not call for a high-clearance 4WD vehicle for this approach.
Drive from Prince George: 290.1 km · approximately 235 minutes. Estimate; allow for road conditions and stops.
Modeled one-way driving time from Prince George City Hall, using mapped road speeds. Forest-road sections can take substantially longer: surface, clearance, radio procedures, gates, washouts, plowing, and legal access are not verified by the router. No live traffic or invented forest-road multiplier is included. Allow extra time and check the dated access notes.
2. Walking the route
Follow the short signed trail down to the Overlander Falls viewing area and return uphill along the same path. The local guide gives about 600 m return with roughly 46 m of elevation change, so the short distance still includes a descent and climb. View the Fraser River from the established lookout rather than walking onto wet rocks beside the falls. The longer riverside route is a different approach and should not be assigned this short distance.
Mapped outing: Highway-side Overlander Falls parking → Overlander Falls viewing area → Highway-side Overlander Falls parking. 0.9 km measured along the mapped line; published trip measurements may differ.

Elevation along the outing
Full round trip
Start: Highway-side Overlander Falls parking · Turn around: Overlander Falls viewing area (0.4 km) · Finish: Highway-side Overlander Falls parking (0.9 km mapped).
Approximate ground elevation from a 90 m terrain model. Distance follows the mapped itinerary and may differ from published walking distance. This is a terrain-model profile, not a surveyed measurement. Any ascent total is identified separately with its own source or estimation method.
How the route order was checked
The short route starts12m from the published parking/trailhead point and ends2m from the mapped viewpoint, with a named Overlander Falls interpretation board7m away. This separately identifies the selected falls lookout rather than merely a nearby creek. YORA describes the short descent and uphill retraced return.

5. Camping, facilities and seasons
Camping and tenting
Robson Meadows is the nearby established campground. The falls viewpoints and riverside trail are day-use destinations; arrange any overnight stay in an authorized campground.
Toilets
An outhouse is listed at the short-route highway parking area.
Season and access
The local guide lists year-round use, but snow and ice can change the difficulty, particularly beside the canyon. Summer mosquitoes are common. A year-round listing is not confirmation that the walking surface is cleared or treated in winter.
Mobile service
The local guide reports no cell service.
