nominal loop; historic connections require current access checks
An endurance walk combines city parks, river corridors and the full Cranbrook Hill Greenway into a roughly 50 km day. It is a stitched itinerary across several networks rather than a single continuously marked trail.
1. Getting there and parking
The published circuit begins and ends at Cottonwood Island Park on River Road. Arrange lawful all-day parking and check current access across every linked network before setting out. The historical itinerary includes an Otway Road walking section and several urban crossings, so it needs more planning than simply following a forest trail.
2. Walking the route
The described itinerary links Cottonwood Island and the river confluence with Nechako riverside parks, the Otway approach, the Cranbrook Hill Greenway, southern city connections and the elevated LC Gunn corridor above the Fraser. It uses approximately 22 km of the broader Greenway route and is normally described anticlockwise, bringing the Otway Road section earlier in the day. Plan food, water, daylight and bailout points for an outing exceeding twelve hours. The City reports unavailable sections of the Heritage River Trail along the Nechako, so verify current public connections rather than following an old full-loop line through closed or private land. Individual park pet rules also apply throughout.
3. Route map
Published locations only. A complete route line is still needed.
Published locations
Numbered points match the map. Use the role beside each point. A summit or park reference point is not a parking location.
