Climb to bench overlooking valley.

1. Getting there and parking

Use the far end of the Mount Robson Welcome Centre parking lot, reached directly from the signed Highway 16 park entrance. Look for the trail start near the interpretive signs about Japanese internment. This approach avoids crossing the busy highway; do not substitute the campground-side trailhead for Overlander Falls.

Road and vehicle: The local guide does not call for a high-clearance 4WD vehicle for this approach.

Drive from Prince George: 288.8 km · approximately 234 minutes. Estimate; allow for road conditions and stops.

Modeled one-way driving time from Prince George City Hall, using mapped road speeds. Forest-road sections can take substantially longer: surface, clearance, radio procedures, gates, washouts, plowing, and legal access are not verified by the router. No live traffic or invented forest-road multiplier is included. Allow extra time and check the dated access notes.

2. Walking the route

Follow the uphill lookout path through forest, climbing steadily until the upper viewpoint and resting bench. There are few open views during the climb; the main reward is the higher view along the Robson Valley and toward Mount Robson. Return by the same approach. The local guide lists alternatives of about 6 km and 4.5 km return with roughly 328 m of gain, so use the metric attached to your chosen start rather than treating them as identical routes.

5. Camping, facilities and seasons

Toilets

The guide lists a washroom at the Mount Robson Visitor Centre.

Season and access

Summer and autumn are the main seasons, and the lower elevation can permit visits later in autumn than the alpine hikes. Snow and ice still make the steady descent slippery; the guide does not guarantee a cleared winter path.

Mobile service

The local guide reports no cell service.

Measurement notes

Source comparison: Welcome Centre approach; 6 km; 328 m ascent; 2½ hours duration; return scope. This is another description of the main outing, a duplicate endpoint, an unscoped source claim, or a related facility.

Source comparison: Second published approach; 4.5 km; 2 hours duration; return; exact start not resolved in source text scope. A source edition, network range or unresolved start/endpoint is not a separate route.

Robson Meadows Lookout: a 4.5 km return alternative is listed, but its exact starting point is not established in the inspected text. It is not a separate navigable option here.
