Access and trail reports
Robson watercraft and wading equipment restriction
From May 4, 2026, BC Parks prohibits watercraft and wading equipment throughout Mount Robson Park waters to limit aquatic disease spread. This includes powered and unpowered craft, inflatables, wading clothing and boots. The hiking trails are not closed by this notice.

Forest interpretive trail.
1. Getting there and parking
Go to the Lucerne campground area beside Yellowhead Lake on Highway 16 in the eastern part of Mount Robson Park. Look for the signed interpretive trail beside the campground; it does not start at Mount Robson Welcome Centre.
2. Walking the route
Follow the self-guided interpretive route through mixed forest beside Lucerne campground and return to the campground area. BC Parks identifies this as a short local nature walk but does not publish a confirmed length or elevation gain on the page reviewed. The nearby Yellowhead Lake shore and swimming beach are separate features; do not assume the interpretive trail circles the whole lake.
- Start beside Lucerne campground and follow the self-guided forest interpretive route. The reviewed park page does not publish a measured length or each junction.
3. Route map
Published locations only. A complete route line is still needed.
Published locations
Numbered points match the map. Use the role beside each point. A summit or park reference point is not a parking location.

5. Camping, facilities and seasons
Camping and tenting
Lucerne is the adjacent established campground. Confirm its operating season and booking arrangements separately; the interpretive path itself is not a tenting area.
Water
Water from Lucerne-area hand pumps must be treated before use according to BC Parks.
Season and access
The neighbouring lake remains cold throughout the year. Snow and campground access affect a winter visit; the source does not document a maintained winter walking loop.
Dogs
Keep dogs leashed.
Mobile service
BC Parks reports mobile service only at the Welcome Centre; Lucerne lies in the eastern highway corridor.
