Getting there & parking

Use the signed park access on Kinney Road, approximately 30 km north of Prince George. The park lies on the south shore of the Salmon River; use the regional district’s entrance link rather than navigating to a point across the river. Published opening is May 1–November 1, from 6 am–11 pm.

Source approximate distance from Prince George; starting point and road-versus-direct method are not established.

Map position: 54.09324, -122.67402 · park location pin linked by regional district. Official RDFFG Map link resolves to place pin !3d54.0932407!4d-122.6740158; the map viewport coordinates were not used. Published park pin; exact trailhead parking position is not independently verified.

On the trail

From the park access, follow the short path along the river and return through the day-use area. The regional district lists 700 m of trail but does not define a separate measured loop or cumulative elevation gain. Picnic tables, fire pits and toilets make it practical to combine the walk with a stop by the river. Keep back from the bank and use only established access; the presence of fishing opportunities does not make every part of the shoreline a safe approach.

Conditions & seasons

Regional site hours generally May 1–November 1; consult individual official page before visit.
