Muskeg Falls (Bear Lake area)
A largely gentle forest walk reaches a creekside waterfall picnic area far along the Davie–Muskeg resource road. The final descent is considerably steeper than the approach, and the drive is much longer than the hike.

A full-route elevation profile is not available yet.
A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
Getting there & parking
From the Bear Lake area use the 100 Road connection to the 200 Road, also called Davie–Muskeg Road, and continue northwest toward the 259.5 km road marker. The trip report describes about 59 km of resource-road travel from Bear Lake; the tourism brochure separates this into roughly 11.5 km on the initial road and another 47 km. Look for the parking area and trail-map kiosk on the right, with space reported for about six vehicles. The kilometre marker is a road reference, not distance from Prince George. Verify industrial traffic and road conditions before committing to the approach.
Map position: 54.59764, -123.29339 · start point of published trip track (parking unverified). Embedded trip-map feature 'muskegin': first recorded coordinate [-123.29339, 54.59764]. Point extracted from the original public trip map. A track start is evidence of where recording began, not certification of parking, legal access, road suitability or the complete route.
On the trail
Follow the marked forest path from the kiosk toward the creek.
Descend the steeper final approximately 200 m to the creekside picnic and waterfall-viewing area.
Full route notes
From the kiosk follow the forest path toward the creek and falls. Most of the approach is relatively flat, but the final approximately 200 m is steep as the trail descends to the creekside picnic area. The descriptive account gives about 1.3 km each way, or 2.6 km return; a separate displayed recording near 1.19 km does not establish the same return scope. Its zero-valued elevation fields are missing data, not proof of no climbing. View the falls from secure ground, keep away from slippery rocks and retrace the same path, allowing for the climb back out from the creek.
The way back
The narrative describes 1.3 km each way, about 2.6 km return. Allow for the climb back from the creek; zero-valued recorded elevations are missing data.
Conditions & seasons
Season-specific access has not been established in this guide. Read the dated notices and original land-manager information before choosing a departure date.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
Camping & overnight plans
On-route camping permission has not been established for this outing. Check the relevant land manager before planning an overnight stay; a mapped lake, cabin or previous tent location does not confirm permission.
