Coburn Trail
The Coburn trails near Red Rock combine forest walking with views from bluffs above the Fraser River. The easier published outing is an approximately 8 km loop with mostly level ground and several short steep pitches; a longer loop is described at about 11.5 km. The wider network can support other distances, so its largest advertised distance and ascent should not be treated as the measurements of every loop.

Getting there & parking
Follow Highway 97 south from Prince George for roughly 25 km and turn right onto Red Rock Road West. After about 2 km, turn right onto Merton Road. Cross the railway and take the first dirt road on the right; follow it approximately 1.6 km, including a sharp left bend, to the red gate used as the published parking landmark. Park without obstructing the gate or working-road traffic. Road condition and the continued availability of this parking spot need checking before departure.
Map position: 53.70654, -122.69277 · start point of published trip track (parking unverified). Embedded trip-map feature 'CoburnTrailOfficial': first recorded coordinate [-122.692766, 53.70654]. Point extracted from the original public trip map. A track start is evidence of where recording began, not certification of parking, legal access, road suitability or the complete route.
On the trail
Begin at the red-gate trail access and choose the short or long circuit using a current network map. The established description places the trails through forest and along Fraser River bluffs, with short steeper sections among otherwise gentle terrain. It does not identify the branch sequence that distinguishes the 8 km and 11.5 km loops, so the prose alone cannot guide an unfamiliar walker through every junction. Keep back from the bluff edge, record your chosen junctions and return along a known route if the loop cannot be confidently followed.
