A full-route elevation profile is not available yet.
A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
Getting there & parking
The Morfee Mountain Road access begins approximately 2 km north of Mackenzie. Follow the signed mountain road only as far as current conditions and your vehicle allow; the municipality describes gravel with several steep sections and recommends larger vehicles. Its short promotional drive estimate is not a forest-road travel-time guarantee. Check snow, visibility, industrial access and posted restrictions before ascending, and do not obstruct towers, maintenance roads or trail entrances at the top.
Map position: 55.43056, -123.03417 · named destination reference point (not a trailhead). BC Gazetteer: Morfee, Mount; Mount; 55 25 49 N, 123 02 03 W; WGS84. Published named-feature location for regional orientation and weather. Does not mark trailhead parking or a specific route viewpoint.
On the trail
From an appropriate upper stopping place, use established public walking areas to enjoy the alpine views while keeping clear of communications infrastructure. The municipal viewpoint description does not define a complete hiking circuit or a measured ascent on foot. If choosing the Royal Coachman trail, plan it as a separate out-and-back: the 2025 guide warns hikers not to continue past its end onto the downhill mountain-bike trail. Other descending bike lines are not substitutes for a walking route back to the vehicle. Carry a clear plan for returning to the same road access if weather hides the surrounding ridges.
Terrain: gravel · alpine.
Conditions & seasons
The mountain is a winter snowmobile destination with deep snow and avalanche terrain. A road-accessed summer viewpoint does not establish a plowed winter drive or a safe winter hiking route.
Winter route
The mountain is used by snowmobilers, with a snowmobile-club cabin roughly halfway up. The summer road viewpoint does not establish a winter hiking route.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
Camping & overnight plans
On-route camping permission has not been established for this outing. Check the relevant land manager before planning an overnight stay; a mapped lake, cabin or previous tent location does not confirm permission.
