Pioneer Park Accessible Trails
Pioneer Park is a small forest and lakeside walking area on the west side of Dragon Lake. Its approximately 1 km of packed crushed-gravel trails connects green space, picnic facilities and lake views. Most grades are gentle, with a somewhat steeper approach to the viewpoint that may affect the route choice for a wheelchair user or someone with limited mobility.

The published measurements describe the wider trail network. Your walk’s length and climbing depend on the trails you choose. The notes below describe the available walking options.

A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
Getting there & parking
Use Campsite Road on the west side of Dragon Lake to reach Pioneer Park in south Quesnel. The regional district identifies the park’s trailhead kiosk as the place to find the trail map. Confirm the park entrance and designated parking rather than following a general Dragon Lake pin, which can lead to a different shoreline access.
Map position: 52.93232, -122.43486 · official park reference. The City of Quesnel Pioneer Park page publishes this point in its map feature titled Pioneer Park. It identifies the park rather than a surveyed trailhead or parking stall. Access remains via Campsite Road.
Walking options
Begin at the information kiosk and follow the crushed-gravel paths through the forest and park grounds. The lakeside viewpoint is the principal walking objective, but its approach is steeper than the surrounding trail. A shorter walk through the gentler paths can use the picnic shelter and open green areas as rest stops. The published kilometre represents the small trail system, not a circuit of Dragon Lake. Return through the park to the same access.
Accessibility
Accessible compacted gravel; lookout approach is steeper.
