A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.

Getting there & parking

  1. Travel north on Highway 97 for approximately 85 km from Prince George, then turn right onto Chuchinka Red Rocky/Colbourne FSR.

  2. Continue through the canyon for roughly 16 km to the first Tacheeda recreation site. The directory repeats this approach for Middle and Point without documenting the final distinction; verify the signed site before selecting a campsite.

Full access notes

From Prince George drive roughly 85 km north on Highway 97 and turn right onto the Chuchinka Redrocky–Colbourne road system. The camping listing describes about 16 km through the canyon to the first Tacheeda recreation site, but gives the same general directions for Middle and Point. Follow current named-site signs to distinguish the final entrances. An alternative approach uses the 700/800 roads near Bear Lake. Published warnings for this system advise a two-way radio and knowledge of its use because of industrial traffic; confirm current posted channels.

Map position: 54.70207, -122.53226 · recreation project location. Source-published recreation project point; not verified parking or trailhead.

At the campsite

Use the signed Middle entrance rather than assuming the first campsite reached is your destination. A loop road serves defined camping pads, tables, fire rings and a gravel boat launch. The listing gives 10 camping units and describes access for two-wheel-drive and larger vehicles, but that description is not a current road assessment. The nearby Tacheeda Lookout is a separate hike with its own trailhead and climbing distance; no direct campground-to-lookout walking connection is verified here. Keep launch and loop-road access clear and check present site and fire rules before setting up.
