Map & elevation
A reliable location has not yet been established for this guide. Use the original access description while this is researched.
A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
Getting there & parking
Reach the wetland through Vanderhoof’s signed community-trail network or from the downstream end of the Riverside Nature Trail. Riverside Park and its bird-observation tower provide a clear starting landmark for a longer linked walk. The wetland’s published 300 m trail distance applies to the local approach, not the full walk from Riverside Park.
On the trail
Follow the short wetland path to the ground-level viewing platform.
A connection continues to Riverside Nature Trail; identify that connection on the local map before using it for a loop.
Full route notes
Follow the wetland trail to the ground-level observation platform. From here the focus is close-range nature viewing rather than an elevated panorama: look for changes in wetland plants, insects and bird activity without stepping off the designated path. A connection leads to the Riverside Nature Trail and can form part of a larger town circuit. Decide on that connection using the local trail map; the short wetland path by itself should not be presented as a complete riverside loop.
The way back
The published 300 m describes the wetland path, not a measured circuit via Riverside. The complete connecting loop remains unmeasured.
Conditions & seasons
Season-specific access has not been established in this guide. Read the dated notices and original land-manager information before choosing a departure date.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
Camping & overnight plans
On-route camping permission has not been established for this outing. Check the relevant land manager before planning an overnight stay; a mapped lake, cabin or previous tent location does not confirm permission.
