Elevation profile
A full-route elevation profile is not available yet.
A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
Getting there & parking
Take Highway 16 east from Prince George to Hungary Creek Forest Service Road. PGBRS places the Grizzly Den / 8-Mile trailhead roughly 13 km along the unmaintained road. A vehicle with suitable clearance and all-wheel drive is recommended for summer. Check road conditions before leaving.
Map position: 53.77389, -121.49641 · club-published cabin destination. PrinceGeorgeBackcountryRecreationSociety publishes8MileCabin waypoint53.773891,-121.496412. Club warns waypoints are approximate; cabin destination is not the roadside trailhead.
On the trail
Follow the Grizzly Den trail to 8-Mile Cabin and return the same way. The published 1.5 km return distance starts at the summer trailhead. The cabin waypoint shown on the map is a destination, not roadside parking.
Conditions & seasons
Hungary Creek Forest Service Road is not plowed in winter, adding about 13 km each way to reach the summer trailhead. Snow-free vehicle access is usually mid-June to mid-October, subject to conditions.
