A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.
At about 48 km from Tumbler Ridge on Boundary Road, take the right turn for Mount Clifford.
Keep right at kilometre 6. Cross Honeymoon Creek near kilometre 9, then take the left fork for about another 8 km.
Parking: Stop at the old westbound road on the right, approximately 50 m before the gate. Leave the gate and industrial access clear.
Drive southeast from Tumbler Ridge on Boundary Road for about 48 km and take the right turn toward Mount Clifford. Keep right at the fork around kilometre 6. After crossing Honeymoon Creek near kilometre 9, take the left branch and continue roughly 8 km up the lower slopes. Park at the old road branching west to the right about 50 m before a gate, leaving both the gate and travelled road clear.
Map position: 54.75870, -120.69998 · historical parking (2016). An August 1, 2016 first-person trip report gives this lower road-junction parking coordinate before the cross-ditched final approach. Historic access information; current road usability and gates are not verified.
Climb the old road past the former gas-well site onto the exploration road above it.
After a few hundred metres, take the sharp left ATV branch into the alpine.
Follow the established track west over the ridge rises, keeping off the fragile surrounding vegetation.
Walk up the old road to the former gas-well site and continue on the exploration road above it. After a few hundred metres, take the sharp left branch used by ATVs toward the alpine. Once on the ridge, follow that established route west over the successive rises for views toward Bone Mountain, the glaciers and Kinuseo Creek valley. Return by the same route. The guide describes about 10 km return; the upper ground is shared with motorized users, and staying on the existing track helps avoid damage to the fragile alpine.
Retrace the same road and ridge route. WNMS lists about 10 km return and three to four hours.
Terrain: exposure · creek crossings.
The open ridge is exposed to sudden mountain-weather changes. Snow or cloud can obscure the ATV track and the sharp return junction; no separate maintained winter hiking route was verified.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
On-route camping permission has not been established for this outing. Check the relevant land manager before planning an overnight stay; a mapped lake, cabin or previous tent location does not confirm permission.
