From Prince George follow Highway 97 north approximately 85.8 km and turn right onto Redrocky Road, also known as the 2000 Road. After about 7.7 km, take the slight left onto Colbourne Road, or the 800 Road. Continue approximately 9.5 km to the trailhead parking area on the right. The source carries an industrial-traffic warning for the 700, 800 and 2000 road system and advises travellers to carry and know how to use a two-way radio. Confirm current posted channels and keep clear of logging, railway and construction access.
Map position: 54.70145, -122.53040 · start point of published trip track (parking unverified). Embedded trip-map feature 'unnamed route feature': first recorded coordinate [-122.530396, 54.701448]. Point extracted from the original public trip map. A track start is evidence of where recording began, not certification of parking, legal access, road suitability or the complete route.
From the marked parking access, follow the established lookout trail uphill and return along the same route. The published outing is approximately 10 km return, with 565 m of gain and an allowance of four to five hours. A June 2026 report says fallen timber was cleared to the lookout; that dated work report does not verify later conditions or the access roads. The public trail entry does not supply intermediate junction distances, so carry the trail map and navigation information rather than treating this brief route outline as a substitute for a mapped line. Do not enter a lookout building unless its current access rules permit it.
The lookout outing is listed as 10 km return. June 2026 tree-clearing work does not establish current road access or later storm damage.

Overnight access needs checking
A lookout building is identified, but current overnight permission, capacity and booking arrangements have not been verified. Do not plan a cabin stay without confirming access. The club warns of busy industrial roads and recommends a two-way radio.
On-route camping permission has not been established for this outing. Check the relevant land manager before planning an overnight stay; a mapped lake, cabin or previous tent location does not confirm permission.
A photograph with confirmed reuse permission has not yet been added to this guide.
