Visit Toboggan Falls on the side trail above Berg Lake campground. For a longer day outing, the separately listed 6 km Hargreaves lookout loop combines the waterfall with a lakeshore return; the backpacking approach to camp is additional.

This chart covers only part of the route. It does not establish the full hike or a return journey.
Coverage and elevation sources
1.06 km along source section 1 of 1, in its mapped direction. Approximate 90 m terrain model along this mapped section. Separate sections are not joined. This chart does not measure total trail ascent or establish current access; use the guide’s published outing measurements.
From Highway 16 at Mount Robson, follow Kinney Lake Road to its end and the Berg Lake trailhead.
Parking: The road-access trailhead is at the end of Kinney Lake Road near the Mount Robson Welcome Centre. Upper-corridor camps and viewpoints cannot be reached by car.
Full access notes
From Highway 16, turn into the signed Mount Robson park entrance near the Welcome Centre and follow Kinney Lake Road about 2.3 km to the road-end Berg Lake Trail parking. This is the vehicle access for the whole Berg Lake corridor. The waterfall and upper-basin destinations have no separate road approach. First hike the main corridor to a reserved upper campground near Berg Lake. The side-trip distances on this record begin in that upper area and exclude the much longer approach from the road.
Map position: 53.16067, -119.16358 · waterfall destination reference; reached on foot. Outdooractive published coordinates53.160669,-119.163583 for Toboggan Falls.
Waterfall destination on the backcountry side route; approach begins from the Berg Lake area, not a roadside trailhead.
On the trail
From Berg Lake campground beside Toboggan Creek, follow the signed side trail toward Toboggan Falls. The backpacking approach to camp is separate.
For the falls-only visit, return along the same approach from your chosen waterfall viewpoint. Take the separately described Hargreaves loop only if that longer outing is intended.
Full route notes
From the Toboggan Creek side of Berg Lake campground, follow the uphill side trail toward the cascades above the lake. A waterfall-only visit retraces that approach from the chosen falls viewpoint; its precise turnaround, distance and ascent have not been established. Continuing toward Hargreaves Lake lookout and returning by the Marmot junction and lakeshore is the separate combined-loop option. Check signs at upper junctions so a short falls visit does not become a different upper-mountain outing.
The way back
Retrace the waterfall approach to Berg Lake campground. A published total for this shorter outing has not been established; 6 km / 340 m / 2–4 hours belongs to the combined Hargreaves–Toboggan loop.
Distance and elevation source notes
The combined Hargreaves–Toboggan loop is published as 6 km, 340 m gain and 2–4 hours. Those totals are attached to its named route option; they do not measure a falls-only return.
Conditions & seasons
Expect a colder and more exposed outing than the lakeside trail when climbing toward the upper junctions. Snow and wet rock can obscure or complicate the route, and the separate Mumm Basin connection requires its own closure check.
Robson watercraft and wading equipment restriction
From May 4, 2026, BC Parks prohibits watercraft and wading equipment throughout Mount Robson Park waters to limit aquatic disease spread. This includes powered and unpowered craft, inflatables, wading clothing and boots. The hiking trails are not closed by this notice.
BC Parks allows winter use, but warns of severe winter conditions. Use designated camping areas and check current advisories and avalanche conditions; the summer itinerary is not a validated winter track.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
Overnight stays belong in designated Berg Lake Trail campgrounds, on tent pads or other established sites. Reserve the selected campground during the peak booking season; a day-hike visit does not provide a camping reservation. The corridor has a permanent campfire ban, and water must be treated. Dogs are not allowed on overnight trips. Stay at an upper corridor campground for this side trip; the waterfall path is not a designated camping area.
