Getting there & parking
Drive east from Prince George on Highway 16 across the Willow River bridge.
Take the first right onto Willow North FSR, then the first right down toward the river. The site is less than 1 km from the highway.
Full access notes
Travelling east on Highway 16, cross the Willow River bridge and take the first right onto Willow North Forest Service Road. Take the first right again toward the river; the recreation site is less than 1 km from the highway. This is the camping access and should not be substituted for the separate Willow River Interpretive Trail parking.
Map position: 53.87278, -122.27706 · mapped recreation-site reference. OSMway168084101 named WillowNorthRecreationSite; distinct from interpretive trail1.5km north. Source-backed reference location; current access, exact parking and field position not independently verified.
At the campsite
The visit centres on the gravel river shore and the small recreation-site clearing. The directory does not describe a maintained walking loop, swimming supervision or a connection across the highway to the interpretive trail. Use the separate Willow River Interpretive Trail guide when planning a hike, and assess river level and bank stability before choosing a shore-side stopping place.
Conditions & seasons
No current winter maintenance or year-round service commitment was established. River levels and the condition of the short gravel spur can change with snowmelt and heavy rain; those conditions matter even though the site is close to the highway.
These are dated research notes. Open the trip planner for current available weather and advisory feeds; no alert found does not establish that a trail or road is open.
Camping & overnight plans
The directory lists four camping spaces and permits tenting. Toilets, potable water and other developed services were not confirmed, so arrive prepared for a basic camp rather than a serviced campground. Use the existing designated camping area and keep the access spur clear for other visitors.
