Bell Mountain — Little Bell

Use the shared old-road approach from the forestry campsite to the alpine meadow, roughly 2.5 km above the campsite. Little Bell is the nearer summit choice, reaching about 1,980 m. Once beyond the road, the alpine line is not consistently marked; retain the route back to the meadow. The source’s 8–12 km return range covers multiple parking and summit options and does not establish a measured Little Bell-only distance.

A full-route elevation profile is not available yet.

A reusable trail line has not yet been verified for this outing. Any location pin shows the published location described above; it does not draw the hike or establish a navigable approach.

Getting there & parking

Use Bell Mountain Road off Highway 16 west of McBride and follow the mountain-road approach toward the former forestry campsite and alpine access. Published distances vary by road starting point, with current tourism information describing the upper walking start near road kilometre 17. The lower parking around kilometre 4.5 serves different riding and skiing routes; four-wheel drive is recommended above it. Stop earlier if the road is unsuitable and add the extra road walk to the trip rather than applying the upper-start distance.

Driving access has not been established for this selected route option; check its original sources.

Map position: 53.30293, -120.31288 · destination reference point. Embedded trip-map feature 'Track': first recorded coordinate [-120.31288, 53.30293]. Point extracted from the original public trip map. A track start is evidence of where recording began, not certification of parking, legal access, road suitability or the complete route. RSTBC currently reports summer access closed / road impassable; do not auto-route vehicles to this historical trip point. This point is not a confirmed starting point for the selected route option.
